Dr Bock, Foot & Ankle Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician, is also engaged in the advanced training of fellow colleagues

As expert orthopaedic and foot specialist, Dr Bock, Foot & Ankle Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician, is also engaged in the advanced training of fellow colleagues. In this context, Dr. Bock organized, for the second year in a row, the traditional winter conference of the Austrian Society of Foot Surgery (www.fussgesellschaft.at). This year’s subject was all about sports injuries of the foot and ankle. The conference benefited from Dr Bock’s inputs to the program. Among other topics, tendon lesions and ankle instability were on the agenda for discussion. During the sessions, Dr. Bock also took advantage of the opportunity to emphasize the importance of promptly diagnosing injuries caused by sports overuse in order to avoid further dammage. Malposition and instability can, for example, be treated by wearing special insoles and with physiotherapy administered by a specialist, while sometimes surgery is necessary.
